- FAQ : Error 'COMCTL32.OCX is not correctly
registered'
- Cause : The setup program of 2.0.5 version (date
24/Apr/1999, size 772 KByte ) do not install the Comctl32.ocx common control module and
under some circumstance happen this error .
- Answer : Upgrade WebRifleŽ to version 2.0.5a (date
04/May/1999, size 1019 KByte) or above.
- FAQ : Question 'WebRifleŽ 2.x works with
Internet Explorer 5?'
- Answer : Yes , WebRifleŽ2.0.3 or above works with
Internet Explorer 5 (with Active Desktop components installed).
- FAQ : Question 'How to know if VB
Run-Time files is already installed?'
- Answer : Simply run the
WebRifleŽ setup. The setup will check if VB Run-Time is installed
on your system.
- FAQ : Question
'How
to know if VB Run-Time files is needed?'
- Answer : Simply run the
WebRifleŽ setup. The setup will check if VB Run-Time is needed on
your system (usually the Run-Time is not
necessary for WindowsŽ
2000/XP or above).
- FAQ : Error 'Some page are reloaded
twice' (2.0.0 to 2.0.3)
- Cause : The Auto-Refresh function of WebRifleŽ
2.0.3 sometime refresh the page twice. This is due to some web server that doesn't send
the expiration date of web pages.
- Answer : Upgrade WebRifleŽ to version 2.0.4 or
above. NOTE : Take a look at the FAQ 'Some page are not reloaded'.
- FAQ : Question 'Some page are not
reloaded by auto-refresh' (2.0.0 to 2.0.4)
- Cause : Sometime the Auto-Refresh function of
WebRifleŽ doesn't refresh the page. This is due to some web server that doesn't sends the
expiration date of web pages. In this case WebRifleŽ is unable to evaluate if the page
already on cache must be updated.
- Answer : There is no correction, in this case
you must refresh the page manually.
- FAQ : Error 'Types does not
match in load registry default function' (2.0.0 to 2.0.3)
- Cause : Some installation of WebRifleŽ display this
message on the startup; it's an date-time conversion error and it depends from
international settings. I fixed it into 2.0.4 release.
- Answer : Upgrade WebRifleŽ to version 2.0.4 or
above.
- FAQ : Error 'An
error occurred during the move data process -623 '
- Cause :This message is displayed if you are
installing WebRifleŽ when a copy of WebRifleŽ is already running on your system.
The setup program of version 2.0.4 or above check this condition.
- Answer : Upgrade WebRifleŽ to version 2.0.4 or
above.
- FAQ : Error 'Overflow in set window
position function' (2.0.0 to 2.0.2)
- Cause : Some installation of WebRifleŽ display this
message on the startup; it's a false error and WebRifleŽ works fine but it's boring. I
fixed it into 2.0.3 release.
- Answer : Upgrade WebRifleŽ to version 2.0.3 or
above.
- FAQ : Problem 'IE Page refresh doesn't
work' (2.0.0 to 2.0.2)
- Cause : Is you set WebRifleŽ for max cache
acceleration (advanced settings window..) Internet Explorer is not be able to refresh some
pages because doesn't check if are changed. This is not a bugs but a characteristic of
Internet Explorer 4 and WebRifleŽ solve this problem from version 2.0.3 with a background
refresh when the page is changed from the last access.
- Answer : Upgrade WebRifleŽ to version 2.0.3 or
above.
- FAQ : Problem 'Trial period too short' (2.0.0 to
2.0.1)
- Cause : Some problem with date calculation when
using non-european date setting cause a very short trial period and WebRifleŽ ask for
registration; when you install version 2.0.0 or 2.0.1 WebRifleŽ trial period is already
expired.
- Answer : Upgrade WebRifleŽ to version 2.0.2 or
above.
- FAQ : Problem 'WebRifleŽ doesn't store
registration' (2.0.0 to 2.0.1)
- Cause : Some problem with date calculation when
using non-european date setting cause an error in registration function; when you register
version 2.0.0 or 2.0.1 WebRifleŽ doesn't store the operation and to the next startup ask
for registration again.
- Answer : Upgrade WebRifleŽ to version 2.0.2 or
above.
- FAQ : Problem 'WebRifleŽ is not working, it
didn't cache any site' (1.0.0 to 1.1.2)
- Cause : Active desktop is unable to control the IE
instances if the IE advanced option 'Browse in a new process' is checked. Consequently
also WebRifleŽ is unable to control the Internet Explorer instances with this option
enabled.
- Answer : Disable the IE advanced option 'Browse in a
new process'; version above 1.1.2 will trap this error.
NOTE: take a look to question 'IE advanced option 'Browse in a new process' always
checked'.
- FAQ : Question 'IE advanced option 'Browse
in a new process' always checked' (All Version..)
- Question : WebRifleŽ from version 2.0.3 force the
'Browse in a new process' flag to disabled. This because Active desktop is unable to
control the IE instances if the IE advanced option 'Browse in a new process' is checked.
Consequently also WebRifleŽ is unable to control the Internet Explorer instances with
this option enabled.
To solve this problem WebRifleŽ force this flag; if you find this flag checked after
WebRifleŽ startup another program force this! For example Cookie Pal from
Kookaburra software is not compatible with WebRifle.
- Answer : Uninstall the program that force IE
advanced option 'Browse in a new process' to checked.
- FAQ : Error "Can't open the system tray
pop-up menu, WebRifleŽ monitor is invisible" (1.0.0 to 1.1.2)
- Cause : WebRifleŽ version 1.1.0 and 1.1.1 has some
visibility problems with 1024*768 resolution or above and large fonts.
- Answer : Download WebRifleŽ version 1.1.2 upgrade.
- FAQ : Error 'ActiveX component can't create object' in form load
function (1.0.0 to 1.1.2)
- Cause : You don't have IE4 installed, you have not
installed also the Active Desktop components of IE4.
WebRifleŽ needs Active Desktop components, you can disable it but it must be installed.
- Answer : Install also the Active Desktop components
of IE4 (WebRifleŽ version 1.1.1 or above traps this error..)
- FAQ : Error "set-up
can't find Turboexp.ex_." (1.0.0 to 1.1.2)
- Cause : You don't use a decompressor version which
ia compatible with Winzip 6.3; WebRifleŽ setup is zipped with WinZip 6.3.
- Answer : Use WinZip 6.3 or above.
- FAQ : Problem 'The monitor folder doesn't
display information, maybe it doesn't work correctly' (all version)
- Cause : Don't worry, to avoid performance problems
the monitor section works only when it is visible, thus if you want to see monitor in
action leave it open.
- Answer : No correction, it is a normal condition.
- FAQ : Error 'Can't find shdocvw.dll or it is
not working' (all version)
- Cause : You don't have IE4 installed on your machine
or have not installed also the Active Desktop components of IE4. Shdocvw.dll is the main
library of IE4 and cannot be distributed.
- Answer : Install IE4 correctly.
- FAQ : Error 'WebRifleŽ is not
uninstallable' (all version)
- Cause : If WebRifleŽ is running (normal condition)
the uninstall procedure cannot remove the te.exe executable file.
- Answer : Before try to uninstall WebRifleŽ simply
stop it; right click on the WebRifleŽ icon (tray area) and choose Exit.
- FAQ : Error 'Wrong version of run-time DLL'

- Cause : You have VB run-time installed on your
computer but is not the SP3 version.
- Answer : Donwload VB5 run-time SP3 version from
download page and install it.
